Catching Up/SNAGS

Hi all!  I have so much to say that I could write a book.  I definitely need to start updating more often and catching up with alerts.  I just can't keep up with everything but I'm trying.

My BF saw the doctor yesterday.  The dr. who did the stents is not doing the surgery.  Each doctor has specialties.  The surgeon is the chief of staff.  He sees him Tues and will have the date scheduled.  There will be one bypass....the artery is 90% blocked and couldn't be stented because of the location.  I'm seeing my doctor Monday for my yearly check up and plan to have another stress test done.  It's been 4 years since my last one.

I'll save the news about the "three stooges" of mine for later.

I'm walking 4,200 steps a day which is about 2 miles.  It takes 30 min.  According to my BF's cardiac notebook, which is extensive, that is what I should be doing for my age.  I've cut back on the cheeses, etc.  I'm eating steamed veggies and chicken for lunch.  I've only lost 5 lbs. in a month but that's good enough.  LOL...yesterday we had pizza and a cake for a guy who was retiring at work.  So.....I totally blew it.

I'm off for my walk in a minute or two.  Many of you commented that my place looked rural and sort of scary.  Actually, (hope I'm not jinxing myself) it is very safe.  We rarely lock our doors.  It's like a step back in time here.

Anyway, one more thing, and this cracks me up.  Compressed time has been approved for our division.  So, am I starting the first of September on 10 hr days????????  I think I'll do a poll on this one because y'all know I've been fussing for two years about working five days a week so here goes.....  (An explanation for those who are confused....I worked 4 10 hr days for 8 years.  I had every Wed off.  Two years ago, I was promoted to a new division but had to go back to the traditional 5 day work week.  I have never stopped fussing about that since that time.)

I'm off for my walk.  The weather is hot today so I'm going to float in my pool...whoo hoo!

Keeping good thoughts and prayers for boyfriend...he will be fine..he has the best nurse, you!!  Walking is really great exercise...I think you are doing awesome.   Blowing the diet for one meal is not going to hurt you...weight loss is always slow...for me it is at a standstill...LOL   Your area looked lovely...I would love to walk there anytime.   Enjoy that floating...I may do the same on my end when all my doggies are finally trimmed and my bills are paid...that's on my agenda today...love you!

WTG on the 5 pounds!! you know, they recommend for effective weight loss that will last, they recommend you don't lose more than 1-2 pounds a week so you are right in that range! and the most important thing is you are making lifestyle changes that will stick with you; walking, eating healthier. YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!! don't worry; there will always be those occasions where you will indulge in what is not the best food choices; do it, then move on and get back on plan; right now I am really consistent with my plan on the weekdays and relax it a bit on the weekend; it works; the weight is coming off slower than before, but at least without so much rigidity, I feel I can live with this plan for a long time

that's great with the steps!! how old are you? at 50, (me) I wonder how many steps I should be getting in, in a day.

I hope your 3 "stooges" are doing well

enjoy your pool time!

Hey girl. Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff. Now with BF not smoking, it will really help you.Right?   When is having the surgery? Didi I miss that part.Hope all goes well and he's out on your wallks with you soon.   I'm half asleep and if I laid down would fall right to sleep. Well I got two opinions on this dam infected toe. The bone is infected so they have to amputate  part of it. On the 27th, Whoopie. So it goes. School starts the 25th. So I hopefully will be childess from 8-3. Gotta run and buy some groceries. MORE FUN!! Take care.
Luv N hugs, Barb

I think you would love to go back to 4 days a week. I continue to keep Joey in my prayers on the smoke. I'm delighted your taking better care of yourself. I'm trying to do the same. Pickles gives me an excuse to break from the house chaos and go for a long walk. It's been nice getting more alerts from you dear friend, I've missed you. I absolutely love how rural your neighborhood is. I want to sell our house in a few years and move out to the country with fewer neighbors. (Hugs)Indigo

You know they say the secret to life is to think positive thoughts.  So I'm sending positive thoughts your way for your BF and your 4 day work week. : )  Love ya honey!!!!

I'm sending you many prayers for your BF, and also for you, that you have a good check up.
I'm glad you're walking. I've just started up again. I was walking all the time at DL, and now I have to make time to do it. Not used to that!
I hope you do get your 4 day work week like you used to have. I know you enjoyed that. I would love that schedule, too! Keep us posted.
It's nice to hear from you Chris.
Hugs and love, Pam xoxox

The first 5 pounds has been the hardest to loose!! Going slow is better than taking it off fast. :-) I thought your place looked great. All in what we get use to, isn't it?  lol I do live in the country and always figure I don't have peeping toms! lol Didn't vote... just hope you get the time you want. :-) Tag is too cute! Have a great week. Janie
