Update

A short update while I have the time before the week begins and I end up too tired when I get home from work.

I brought my BF home from the hospital yesterday.  They discharged him straight from the ICU.  He was there for two days to make sure he was stabilized from the stents.

He tells me he feels better than he has in a good while.  He still faces open heart surgery in six weeks.  He needs time for the stents to heal.  He is saying he needs only one bypass done.  I'm not sure where the 3 came from at first.

Of course, I worry but there's not much to do.  I need to get over it because what will be will be.  We've talked a good many things over about me being his power of attorney for health decisions.  He has other things he wants me to do also.  I told him to take it easy for a day or two and then we'll take care of this stuff.  He's very independent.  He's back to getting that way again today but yesterday he was sort of clingy and hated being that way.  He can't stand being dependent on anyone but realizes just how much he needs and depends on me.  LOL...the cement that holds things together.

So.....life moves on for now.  I'm sort of glad I have work to keep me occupied but then again I did have two days of pool time, which was great.  It rained again here today.  Back to the grind again.  Thanks for your continued prayers and good thoughts.  Love n Hugs to all....CHRIS

Happy he is home...and yes, it does take time for stents to heal...but he is in good hands...you!!  He is taking all the steps needed to get this done and get his life back to normal.  I do know my husband feels so much better after that procedure with the stents..he has two.  Breathing is so much better he quotes.   Will continue to pray for your BF and for you to continue to be strong, as you always are..and happy you got pool time....we did too, tonight, until it started to pour down rain, right on us...but how refreshing it felt.  Hugs and love...know I am always here for you and your family...
Love you,
Joyce

Although there's still a lot to go through I'm glad you BF is back home. It's amazing how they realise they can't be independent all the time, Andy is exactly the same, when he's in hospital or just coming out of it he knows he has to rely on me to help. I'm the only one who we'll let help him. Dunno what he'd do if I wasn't here! I hope your BF's health continues to improve and he can get the bypass done soon. Jeannette xx

Chris, I can just imagine how stressful this is for both of you.  Open heart surgery works wonders for so many, and I'm sure your BF will benefit from it as well.  They have made such progress where heart repair goes, it's truly amazing!  Adding years and years to peoples lives.  I'm glad that you are there for him, but don't forget to breath, my friend.  Take time to just breath.
You and your BF are in my prayers, and I know God will see you both through this.

I am always here for you.....

Love  you
Jackie

Glad he's home and feeling better.  Some patients are amazed at how much better they feel and realize they have been feeling bad for a long time.  Hopefully he will fly through the surgery.  Have him practice getting in and out of beds and chairs without using his arms before surgery.  That is the hardest for patients to master.

Thank God he is home. This must be a very scary time for the both of you.
I hope your BF takes the next 6 weeks and recovers as far as he can and gets enough rest to prepare himself for surgery. A difficult time ahead of you. I will keep you and your Bf in my prayers and my thoughts! Hugs, Maria

I'm glad your BF is home and I hope he is doing well.  I hope he isn't suffering some depression, which is not uncommon after heart surgery.  Take care!

If you want to chat, then email me. My partner went through open heart surgery just about this time last year (valve replacement).  He was only in his early 50s, so a lot to take in for both of us.  We had to make decisions about power of attorney and such like as well.  One year on, life is good

Chris.....So glad to hear your b/f is home.  Things will be okay.  I think once he has the surgery and is recovering, he'll be back to his independent self.  Will keep him and you in my prayers.  I know what it's like for someone you love to go thru stent surgery then 3 bypasses surgery.
Hugs,
Dana
