Alive and Well and Snags or Tags

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I've left an entry.  Bless all of you who were concerned.  Love you all!  I'm fine just whooped and feeling the January blahs.  Plus I can't seem to break the temptation of nicotine while at the computer.  LOL...I believe a crazy lady lurks inside of me.

Megan had her cryosurgery on Wednesday.  Great news is that it's very mild dysplasia; milder than it appeared.  Now to the procedure....my life is Murphy's law totally.  It extends into the lives of my children.  The clinic is about three blocks from the main hospital.  The doctor had a tank and froze Megan's cervix for 3 min.  2 mins down time; then 3 more mins of freezing.  He said her cervix looked like a sno-cone.  They then let it sit for 2 more minutes to kill the cells and switch the machine to the "thaw" setting.  Well, guess what, the "thaw" setting crapped out totally and he couldn't "defrost" Megan; his words exactly.  She burst into tears, and I started laughing inappropriately but still couldn't stop.  It was an insane situation.  Megan then started laughing and crying at the same time.  They called in the senior nurse who is probably in her 50's like me.  She is the expert on the machine mechanics.  She thought the tube had ice crystals in it....nope...it just died, which caused Megan to get more hysterical.  Of course, I just saw it as an episode of the Keystone Cops; surreal to say the least.  They tried swabbing but it wasn't working; then pouring saline into her; didn't work.  The senior nurse dug out a thing that looked like a turkey baster.  It was plastic wrapped but ancient.  They filled it with saline and voila...my baby was "defrosted."  Basically, a 20 minute procedure took almost an hour.  Megan developed a migraine so they treated her for that.  Off she went to eat and take more meds.  I dropped her off at class.  She was recovered by then and laughing as hysterically as I was.  We just had to discuss the way things happen in our lives continuously against the grain.  Nothing is ever simple or basic.  I live always waiting for the other shoe to fall, which invariably will happen.

I've been totally whooped all week.  I've been working non-stop and making myself adjust to working five days a week.  Honestly, 10 hr days was so much easier but working every day does help with my non-smoking.  It's been cold and snowy here all week.  I can't wait for spring time, flowers, daylight, etc.  This winter season has been brutal on me this year.

Thought I'd make some light, springy tags in anticipation.

OMG I can't believe that happened at the Doc's office.  It's stressful enough, but then to have that happen. Sheesh!  At least it worked out ok. I had that done in my 20's, too.  It doesn't hurt...just a pain.
I know the smoking is hard. Especially when you're used to having one at the computer. It's a trigger.  Even if you're not thinking about it, you sit down and the trigger goes off.  I can only keep you in my prayers about this.  I've heard it's the hardest thing to stop.
Glad you're doing ok Chris....and I hope you have a good weekend.

Aww Chris.. for you I will pray for spring... but don't even be asking for Summer, cause I'm not going there! lol  I'm glad that Megan is okay.  I had to have that same procedure done when I was in my 30's, for the exact same thing.  Only the machine didn't break! lol  I know it's not funny, but the way you tell it, it is!  Never lose your sense of humor, right?  Lose that, and you've lost everything.

Hang in there with 'quitting smoking' thing..   At least you haven't given up.  Just keep taking one day at a time, and do the best you can!

I missed you while I was away..

Love you
jackie

POOR Megan having to go through all that THEN getting a migraine. God love her.  At least she was finally laughing.  As bad as the time I was 8 mo pregnant and thought my water had broken when I woke up soaking wet. Calld DR and he said come in.  I did. Nope my water hadn't broken, said baby prob. sat on my bladder. Oh jeez.  Went home, laid back down got up wet again. This time down the side of my pants.  Our waterbed had sprung a leak!!! The Dr wanted to see me the next day, whenI told him that the only water that had broken was my bed I thought he and the nurse were going to stroke out laughing.  He said he thought he'd heard everything. LOL
Snagged your graphics .  Thanks for sharing.
Hang in there with the not smoking.  I'm saying my prayers  for ya.  I know you can do it girl. IF I can quit, anyone can. I was smoking nearly 3 packs a day!
Give Megan a hug and Hugs to you, Barb

I love the tag with the daisies, butterfly, and sunflowers.  My daughter who passed away 7 yrs ago loved those flowers and since her passing, the butterfly is something that reminds me of her everytime I see one.  Could I have that tagged with Susan and also one with the name Megan?  Thank you so very much.  God bless you and a better one tomorrow.

I once spent about a month on Lake Erie at Geneva-on-the-Lake.  I thought it was very beautiful there.  I remember going through a town called Alburs I think the name was that was later destroyed by a tornado.  I didn't realize tornados went there, too.  We went to Ashtabula, Ohio, I think is how you spell it.  My kids went to school there for a month.  You would see empty houses closed up and people said they had gone to Florida for the winter!  Came to visit your graphics as just this morning I saw that one tag about the guardian angel and commented on it and wondered who Cab was!  And I was resolved to find out.  Sooner than I expected!   Gerry
