There is another update in the blog plus I got an e-mail from Megan. I wish I could say I am jumping for joy about it but I'm just a bit worried. Her tone was off. She said China is definitely different; dirty, dirty, dirty. She went on to say that she hasn't felt well at all, can't shake it and is feeling worse each day. She thinks her celiac disease is kicking into full gear again because she can't convey to the chefs in the restaurants that she can't eat any grains. She can't see how the food is being cooked and thinks she is getting wheat in her system somehow. It makes her deathly ill. I was worried about that. Celiac is an immune system disorder so, of course, I'm worried that she will pick up some disease with a weakened immune system. I worried about that before she left. She's only been there a week. She is going to try and call. I hope she does so I can guage exactly what is wrong with her. She just didn't seem herself in the e-mail. I know she's not homesick. She did say Shanghai is gorgeous at night. I know she is ill...oh dear. They are in Xian now. I can't tell who is who riding the bikes. The tour guide took this. It was taken May 8th. That was the last update.
Today we are spending the whole day visiting the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi'an. I'm expecting some amazing pictures from this one. Stay tuned!

Oh, I have read about that disease. I worried my latest bout with a virus my signal my immune system affected by my vegan diet, but I think I had been going too hard. I didn't have any trouble that way the other two years I went on it, but a trip to China does not seem like a good place to get sick. I just hope she feels better. Gerry
Oh God, Chris. That's no good. I hope and pray she just has a little montezuma's revenge. I'll pray for her. Hope you can talk to her soon. At least she is smiling in the photo. And a beautiful smile it is. Keep us posted.
Love ya, Barb
Chris, I will keep Megan in my prayers for sure, Hugs Lisa
I'm so sorry Megan is sick. I know you must be worried to death. I just hope it's maybe a touch of traveller's illness. Good ol' Stomach problems, and nothing more. I hope she updates you soon. Love to you...Pam
It's so hard being that far away and having to worry. I hope you get an update from her soon that she is feeling better.
Lovely job on the snags.

I hope you hear from Megan soon hon. I'm keeping her in my prayers on the smoke! (Hugs) Indigo
It is so much differant in other counties Chris.Sorry to read Megan is not too well.Maybe the professor could find out if there is an hospital or medical centre nearby, that could give Megan some letter or something to show the people in the restaraunts what she cannot eat.Rather than her trying to explain and them not understanding her ? I don't know ? It's only a suggestion. Medical centres and hospital should have someone for this problem language wise, who would make her one out if it helped.I did this on one holiday in greece myself. If that is the problem she means. The pictures are lovely and I am sure she will be fine Chris. We do worry ourselves silly I know, but I think Megan will sort it,or the professor if she has words with him about this problem. There could be a little homesickness too which won't help things they don't always like to admit this .Lets hope something is sorted so she can enjoy the rest of the so long awaited holiday.Keep us tuned in on this.Lovely graphics thanx a million .I snagged the second one.Take care God Bless Kath.Astoriasand

Hi Chris. Yes China is dirty. I hope Megan's professor can get an interpreter to explain to restaurants about her celiac disease. When I went we were taken to the best restaurants in each town and they were very clean but I saw some grotty places I wouldn't let my cats eat in. I'm afraid that schools will take the students to cheaper places. Xian city walls are beautiful, we went up there and Megan will love the Terracotta Army, it's an amazing place. I hope she feels better soon and can get some food that agrees with her. Jeannette xx http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/
